The 2009 U.S.-EU Summit took place on November 3-4, 2009 in Washington D.C. A joint EU-US Summit Declaration, as well as a press release on the new U.S.-EU Energy Council, was issued following the Summit.

TABD recently submitted views on the future direction of EU Trade Policy to DG Trade. The submission was part of a consultation carried out ahead of the launch of a strategy document that will be released later in 2010. TABD members contributed to the drafting of the submission. Several associations, including TABD, submitted recommendations to the TransAtlantic Economic Council (TEC) in several policy areas, in July 2010. In November 2009 the creation of two specific additional dialogues was announced, a U.S EU Innovation Dialogue and a US EU Energy Council. These will now supplement the network of technical dialogues in place and already working in conjunction with TEC.
