The TransAtlantic Business Dialogue (TABD) is announcing the launch of a further consultation process that it is conducting in support of the Transatlantic Economic Council (TEC). TEC was created by the US EU Framework agreement agreed in April 2007. The consultation creates an opportunity for stakeholders to review and restate priorities following meetings of the TEC in 2009 and ahead of its next meeting in 2010, which is as yet unscheduled.
In November 2009 the creation of two specific additional dialogues was announced, a U.S EU Innovation Dialogue and a US EU Energy Council. These will now supplement the network of technical dialogues in place and already working in conjunction with TEC. Our expectation is that there will be strong coordination between all of these bodies. click here to view tec consultation 2010 press release
TABD invites companies, industry associations and other interested parties to submit their views on ongoing sector or company specific transatlantic priorities; to propose issues that should be addressed in the future; and for any further comments on goals and specific work items for transatlantic economic cooperation. A set of questions which might help stakeholders with their considerations is available at www.tabd.com under Transatlantic Economic Council. Contributions should be provided on or before April 30th to Rosalind Travers (rtravers@eu.tabd.com) or Maria Eli (meli@tabd.com). |
